Collections and Memorabilia

As a family historian, I have come to be the caretaker of many collections of fantastic photos, letters, documents, and other items that once belonged to my ancestors as well as my husband's family. My goal with this blog is to not only share the stories of our ancestors, but also document these collections of things. Some folks may enjoy reading the stories, but I know others just enjoy looking at the "stuff".  As I blog about a collection, I'll also add a link here that will take you to a page with all the items from that collection in one place. They'll link to the blog posts if you'd like to take a look. Enjoy!

Letters to Rayson Brown, 1922
(click link above to go to collection)

Edythe and Rayson Brown,
years after the letters were written and saved.
Letters to Rayson Brown (1898-1974) from Edythe Sisson (1897-1978) and from her mother, Edith Amy (Duffield) Sisson (1864-1926) that were saved by Rayson. The letters begin in February of 1922. I'm reading them as I transcribe them here, so I'm not sure yet of the timespan. We are only getting one side of the conversations, but the ladies answer Rayson's previous letter each time, so we can learn a lot about the relationships and the things that were happening in all their lives.
